Peter Bogira
I’m a proud Evanston native who grew up near James Park and attended Dawes Elementary, Chute Middle School, and ETHS. The schools I attended were integral to my upbringing, and my childhood experiences here shaped my love for learning and my strong sense of community. I’m passionate about ensuring that all current and future students in District 65 have access to a high-quality school experience—one that fosters a lifelong love of learning and a true sense of belonging.
My wife and I have two children attending Kingsley Elementary, with our youngest joining as a kindergartner next year. Those who know me would describe me as a dedicated father, husband, and advocate for our public schools. I’m deeply committed to strengthening our schools as community anchors and ensuring they serve every student in our district.
My professional background is in marketing and advertising. My current role is a Principal Account Executive in ad sales at Roku, where I manage a $50M annual book of business. This role requires me to navigate complex partnerships, find solutions, and achieve shared goals. I understand how important reputation and trust are to an organization’s success, and I believe District 65’s image needs thoughtful repair under the guidance of its next school board.
I bring leadership experience, having recruited, hired, and developed talent. I have made tough decisions during challenging times, including implementing performance improvement plans and navigating economic downturns. I’ve also supported a family member through Chapter 7 bankruptcy, gaining firsthand insight into the importance of accountability and rebuilding during financial distress. These experiences have prepared me to tackle the governance and fiscal challenges facing District 65.
I hold a B.A. in Communications from Albion College, where I also played collegiate soccer. My upbringing instilled in me a deep curiosity and analytical mindset—qualities I will bring to the District 65 School Board to advocate for all families and ensure our schools thrive.
